My Early years

Photography has been a part of my life since I 'borrowed' my father's Canon AE1 with a 50mm lens at 15. For over 30 years, I've captured countless moments, yet never fully mastered the craft. That camera, a relic from the late '70s through the early 2000s, has accompanied me around the globe. The film days demanded careful thought for each 35mm shot. Simultaneously, my interest in music grew, so the idea of becoming a professional photographer never crossed my mind. In the early '90s, I immersed myself in LA's music scene, strumming the guitar in an alternative post-punk grunge band. Photography, however, never beckoned me as a profession. Once I returned to Australia, I dabbled in graphic design, only to discover that my true passion in visual arts lay in the artistry and creativity of photography.

Family first

Sometimes life's responsibilities, like raising a family, can lead us to set aside our passions. I had to pause my interests in guitar and photography to focus on making a living, which led me to drive buses and trucks.

New Spark

In 2018, I reignited my passion for photography, gifting myself a Canon 80D for Christmas. As a lifelong surfer, I naturally gravitated towards surf photography. This new venture made me realize the depth of learning ahead. I delved into understanding my camera, the art of photography, and mastering Lightroom. My dedication continued as I completed a Certificate IV in Photography and Photo Imaging in 2021. Since then, I've expanded my camera collection and ventured into music writing and recording, continuously exploring and nurturing my creativity.

I recently completed an internship at a portrait studio, where I assisted photographers with lighting. This experience was an opportunity to deepen my understanding of lighting techniques and customer service in the photography industry.

Film Industry

Since 2021, I have intentionally pursued roles as a background actor/artist to gain insights into the film industry's behind-the-scenes operations. One of My ambitions is to become a film set photographer and explore the field of cinematography. I believe that continually learning new things is a great way to maintain youthfulness. My portfolio of background Acting includes work on projects such as the movie 'Furiosa,' TV series 'The Artful Dodger,' 'Strife,' 'Mother and Son,' 'Prosper,' 'Narrow Road to the Deep North' (featured extra), 'Exposure' (featured extra), and various television commercials for Seek, Youi, Woolworths, Kia.
